I also checked the backups by going on Time Machine (in the old computer) and forcing verify backups (Option-Click on the Tome Machine Menu).I can boot into the Mojave installation without a hitch, and run Disk Utility to check the disk (all OK).Booting into the Mojave installation boot disk (stored in a USB drive). The procedure I'm using is the following: This is an installation I'm carrying since my original Mac ten years ago, and which I have moved with Time Machine, exactly as I'm trying, to four different Mac Books over the years without a hitch (so far). Besides, this kind of move often necessitates re-registering software, putting in keys (for the older software), etc. Command line stuff like brew, ssh preferences, etc, often are not included in the migration assistant. So, I'm trying to do a full restore from a Mac Book Pro to another, newer Mac Book Pro (both retina ones), since the migration assistant only moves user stuff and some apps. Thanks for engaging with me! Now, I agree that perhaps I should've given more details!
